Terms of use
The rules for using We Crossed Paths: the website and the Android and iOS apps. It's a free beta run by Yoran Scholiers, in Belgium. By creating an account you agree to these terms. How your data is handled is in the privacy note. Last updated 18 October 2026.
Who can use it
- You have to be 18 or older.
- One account per person, with your own name (a first name or nickname is fine) and your own email address.
- Keep your password to yourself. What happens with your account is your responsibility.
What's not allowed
- Anything that sexualises or endangers minors: see the child safety page. It's removed and reported to the authorities.
- Nudity or sexual content in your profile photo, or anywhere others can see it.
- Harassing, threatening or insulting people, or hate against anyone for who they are.
- Pretending to be someone else, or using someone's photo without their permission.
- Spam, scams, fake accounts, bots, or collecting data from the service automatically.
- Anything illegal, or that breaks someone else's rights.
- Putting people on your map who asked you not to, or adding sensitive details about them (health, religion, politics, sexuality). More under “About the people you add” in the privacy note.
Your content
What you add stays yours. You allow me to store it and show it to the people you choose to share it with, only to run We Crossed Paths. You can download it or delete it at any time under Me.
How content is checked
- A new profile photo is checked automatically for nudity, on the server. If it's flagged, people you link with don't see it until I've looked at it.
- Reports are read by me, usually within a day.
- If something breaks these terms, I can remove it, hide your photo, or block or delete your account. I'll email you what I did and why, unless the law or someone's safety stands in the way. If you think I got it wrong, reply to that email and I'll look at it again.
Reporting something
Open the person you're linked with and tap Report. For anything else, including illegal content, email [email protected] with what it is, where you saw it and why it's a problem. You don't need an account to report.
No guarantees
We Crossed Paths is a free beta, made with care but without guarantees: it can have bugs, be down now and then, or change. If it ever stops, I'll tell users in advance so you can download your data. As far as the law allows, I'm not liable for damage from using it, or for what other users share. Your rights as a consumer stay as they are.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time under Me → Your data, or on the deletion page. I can close an account that breaks these terms, as described above.
Changes and contact
If these terms change in a way that matters, I'll tell users before it takes effect. Belgian law applies. Questions, in English or Dutch: [email protected]. That's also the contact point for authorities.
